New Students:
I have created this page to help you acclimate to your new Biology Class as easily and efficiently as possible. If possible, during study block or after school, I like to individually meet with new students. The purpose of this page is not to replace meeting with me but to serve as a reference and as a "what you need to do list." You should have been copies of each of the handouts listed below but I have included links to digital copies for your reference. Please let me know if you did not receive any of the items or if you need another copy .

Papers/Handouts
- Your Name, Block, & Assignment number should be placed all papers that are to be turned in. (But remember, you need to write the assignment #, or reference section letter on all items.) Writing the date is optional. If you wish , you can use just the first initial of your first name, but you must give your full last name.
e.g. Both of these ways are acceptable: "Johnny Falcon" or "J. Falcon"
But this is NOT acceptable: "Johnny F." - If spaces are not provided on a handout, or if using your own paper, at the top of the paper please write your Name, Block , & Assignment number, going from left to right, respectively. (The date is optional and can be placed after your block #). Assignment numbers should always be right justified at the top of your paper.
Assignments
- Completion: Homework, Classwork, and Video Notes are assessed mainly for thoughtful completion. Blanks will result in loss of points. If you are unsure, you should take a guess or tell me something you do know -- just do not leave items blank. Show me you are trying and not just quickly discounting the item ("a blank" cannot tell me you actually tried)/ Wrong answers will not result in a loss of credit unless it is apparent that the work was not your best and done in hast.
- Discussion & Review of Answers: Answers are discussed or Answer Keys are distributed for students to check their work for all Classwork and Homework. It is very important to the learning process that you use this time to self-reflect, i.e. check/correct your answers and identify the material you have not yet mastered. You should also compare your written answers to key answers given during discussion or when distributed. Time does not allow for me to individually remark on all written answers -- I do when I am able. Please use the examples given to help better your writing skills. *By the way, i.e. means "that is " and e.g. means "for example
